Down with the king(s)!
How to describe the latest theatre of the absurd playing out in front of us? This "unprecedented second state visit" by Trump, which was an utter farce? For reasons obvious to everyone, including Trump himself, he had to be kept completely sealed off from the population!
The distastefulness of the occasion was amplified many hundreds of times as it played out against the backdrop of the on-going horror in Gaza, for which Trump and his other "best friend", Netanyahu, are wholly responsible.
And what difference can it possibly make that a toothless UN finally declares the Israeli terror state guilty of "genocide" (but even then, with reservations)? As if the system of "international law" based on decrepit and rightward-lurching politicians - Starmer's amateurs included - bears any weight at all.
As for "British justice", its futility was exposed (once again!) this week when 53 years after the event, a court in Belfast put on trial one of the few surviving paratroopers accused of shooting down 13 civil rights demonstrators in Derry on Bloody Sunday. Yes, as ordered by the now-dead Major General Robert Ford and Colonel Derek Wilford...
The judicial system can't even pretend that it's honest. This week parliament introduced a "Hillsborough Law" - enshrining a "statutory duty of candour", requiring state agencies and public officials to tell the truth! Yes, 26 years after the Hillsborough football stadium disaster (97 fatalities and 766 injuries) which, after multiple official inquiries, failed to find anyone responsible for the fatal mismanagement of overcrowding by the police and officials...
The only conclusion we can come to is that there is nothing in this current system worth preserving. It's stuck up the backside of history, with its exorbitant medieval "pageantry" - designed to impress infantile aspiring "kings" (or emperors!).
Behind the exorbitant pomp and circumstance of the Trump state visit, was - surprise, surprise - the nitty gritty of profits: the AI tech billionaires who hitched a ride and claim to be "investing in Britain".
Well and good. But for that intelligence to be of any use whatsoever, it needs to be taken out of the hands of the profiteers and their puppet politicians, constitutional monarchs and Trumped-up Bonapartes. Not an easy task, but one which the working class has to undertake - and ASAP!
